Overview
The Cardiac Care Unit (CCU) at ZHUMC operates as a closed unit with a capacity of 16 beds for adults who are acutely ill or exacerbated chronic patients.
Our multidisciplinary team consists of clinical cardiologists, interventional cardiologists, arrythmiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, and pneumologists.
Our team also includes experienced nursing staff, and CPR and Respiratory Therapy teams who constantly provide onsite care for patients. Our unit is equipped with advanced monitors, defibrillators, pacemakers, and cardiac echodoppler.
Services
At our unit, we are thus capable of managing a wide range of cardiac conditions including CAD, CHF, cardiomyopathies, arrhythmias, valvular diseases, pericardial diseases, and other poly-pathologic cases.
Our unit also trains residents and cardiology fellows by exposing them to several cardiac diseases and complex cases, enabling them to perform major procedures with proficiency, and take full responsibility for cardiac patients.
